VoIP Explanation

VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol and is a technology allowing you to make digital telephone calls using your FreedomNet Broadband Internet connection as opposed to the old fashioned telephone lines from your local telephone company.

Number portability is available so you can continue using the same phone number you currently have.  Voice Mail, Call Forwarding, Call Waiting, and Caller ID are also features included with the service.

Since FreedomNet is offering and managing the service, Quality of Service (QoS) is managed through FreedomNet directly, unlike other VoIP services.
